Who are the Barbus Müller?
Led by our guide, you will discover strange statues carved in a volcanic stone by a sculptor whose identity long remained unknown. You will learn who he was!
In the exhibition, these Barbus Müller sculptures rub shoulders with statues from Africa, Oceania and the Caribbean, among others. Their common display show the formal similarities they share, thus helping to understand why the Barbus Müller categorized as Outsider art have been for a long time associated with Faraway arts.
Let’s journey from Auvergne in France to the African coasts and Pacific islands, from Outside to Faraway arts. Or the opposite?
