Orant

Orant

The attitude of the man, who is raising his right arm and placing his hand on his forehead, is a sign of worship; the left arm remains alongside the body. A cloth around the waist is his only clothing. A similar statuette was found in the Skoteino Cave on Crete (Heraklion Archaeological Museum). According to Sir Arthur Evans, the Minotaur cult was practiced in that sacred cave in Knossos [1].
